    Ce rapport présente les principales discussions issues d'une session de dialogue facilitée avec les lauréats du prix Andrew Thompson Award Youth Changemakers for Environmental Justice, tenue le 12 mai 2025 à la Polygon Gallery de North Vancouver. Les jeunes leaders ont partagé leurs visions sur la façon dont des lois canadiennes et autochtones robustes pourraient renforcer la résilience écologique et communautaire en C.-B. au cours des 50 prochaines années.

    Une coalition de neuf organisations environnementales canadiennes de premier plan a envoyé une lettre ouverte au Premier ministre Mark Carney et aux ministres clés, demandant l'adoption de sept critères clairs et transparents pour déterminer quels projets servent véritablement l'intérêt national sous la Loi sur l'édification du Canada (projet de loi C-5). La coalition privilégie des projets comme le transport ferroviaire à haute vitesse, les énergies renouvelables et l'eau potable dans les communautés autochtones plutôt que les pipelines controversés.

    Cette thèse propose un cadre d’analyse du droit haïda – appelé Ts’uu JaasGalang HlGaajuu (Cedar Sisters Framework) – fondé sur la symbolique et les fonctions du cèdre dans la culture et le droit haïda. L’auteure, juriste et artiste haïda, vise à reconstruire et rendre visible les lois haïdas issues du lien spirituel, écologique et juridique entre le peuple haïda, la terre (Haida Gwaii), la mer et les êtres vivants.
