This session will begin with an historical perspective of the traditional role of police regarding youth with mental health problems and their interaction with the criminal law system. From there, panel members will provide examples of alternative service delivery models and how this experience may be applied to longer term care to reduce recidivism and the strain on the criminal law justice system.
