OVERVIEW

This conference will explore how restorative justice principles can be applied across diverse areas of community life — from the justice system to education, health, urban design, and social services. By emphasizing practical approaches and dialogue, the event aims to bridge theory and action, highlighting concrete strategies to build more connected, resilient, and inclusive communities.

Inspired by the Hull Initiative in England, one of the most recognized examples of a “restorative city,” the conference will use Hull’s experience as a guiding framework. Hull’s approach integrates restorative practices across public institutions — schools, social services, and local governance — to foster stronger relationships, enhance accountability, and move away from punitive responses.
